Good visual explanation there Philip. Only one slight modification
which can be easily explained with math.

I am terrible at math, so this won't be too hard.

So, if you have 30 frames per second for 60 seconds, you get 1800
frames.
If you have 29.97 frames per second for 60 seconds, you get 1798.2
frames, which is NOT QUITE 2 "dropped" frames per minute.
To make up for this, SMPTE DOESN'T drop the two frames from every 10th
minute. That's because of the .2 extra frames per minute, which, over
the course of 10 minutes becomes (.2 x 10= 2) the two frames that you
WOULD have dropped, but now you don't.

So your illustration should read, "2 dropped frames per minute with
the exception of every tenth minute, where no frames are dropped."

Because it just isn't complicated enough as it is!
