True. Especially with the numerous ways to get into and out of trim
mode.

Trimming is certainly the key to mastering Avid -- but if you've ever
noticed, I believe the Extend key is actually part of the Trim tab in
the command console, so Extend is essentially a speedy trim shortcut.

Extend allows you to L cut using marked in and outs (which I suppose
you could also do in a way with trimming).

I have Extend Edit mapped just to the right of my Mark In and Mark Out
keys. So I tap a Mark with my index or middle finger and tap extend
with my ring finger and I'm done. If I have some incorrect marks
already on, then I can mark an in, clear my out by holding down the
shift key and tap extend.
