"Shirley" has never really worked in any context, especially given the fact that my family is Latino and my Spanish speaking relatives can't even pronounce it! Perhaps I can come up with something more Eurotrash and ambiguously Mediterranean, thus solving two problems at once.

It also helps to have just a single name. Stefan seems to work well,
but anything with an international flair will help.

I'm guessing that Shirley's not going to work. I know "Steve" "Stev-o"
and "Stevarino" are all non-starters.
