RE: [Avid-L2] AE Credit Roll for 23.976 Show

Any progressive shows I've worked on (25 and 23.98) we always made the
59.94i broadcast master and then put 59.94i credits on that. They never
looked good in progressive no matter what tricks we tried.

Subject: [Avid-L2] AE Credit Roll for 23.976 Show

[ Cross-post to AE-List. ]

I am both the editor and the graphics person for a show being posted on
an
Avid at 23.976 fps.

Working progressive has been great until now -- my first credit roll.

I created two rolls in AE that travel at even multiples of 23.976 and
29.97,
respectively.

In both cases, my AE comp and render are 23.976 fps with no field
rendering.

Each have motion blur turned on, and a 1 px vertical Fast Blur on an
adjustment layer above.

They look equally good on a computer screen, but when playing out to
NTSC,
with 3:2 pulldown added by the Avid hardware or by a DVD player, I get
interlace flickering on both versions.

Has anybody been here before and found a solution to stopping flicker in
such a case where hardware is adding pulldown to a progressive movie?

Thanks!

-Jeff

PS: Avid-L2 addendum -- Is Marquee the answer? The credits exist as a
720x9000 pixel Photoshop file.
