Roundtripping may not be quite as necessary for RCPX users. I found and watched a video on editing with 12.5.
Turns out BM added a number of ripple commands. Not obvious to see because they are not on the menubar. They are up on they are on the window tool. They have keyboard shortcuts.
And, I got a long response from BM on how "h.264" was SOOO hard to decode. Their solution seems a hour/day/overnight transcode to ProRes (optimize). However, even after optimize playback is limited to about 25fps which is fine for 24p but not 30p/50p. Meanwhile on the same machine FCPX runs circles around Resolve with h.264.
