Hi Wilson - thanks for chiming in. If I remember right, you said you were using it on PC, rather than Mac, yes?
Would you think that the numbers I'm getting (verification taking 13% longer, instead of twice as long) is a likely indication of something being wonky with the Mac implementation?

I usually wait for others to chime in, but since nobody's biting. . .
I use FreeFileSync on my Avids and on my work and home machines. By default it copies, then does a checksum verify, which takes roughly as long as the copy, so yeah, that's twice as long. Of course you don't have to wait for the verify; you can just abort it and use the copies right away. Any time later you can verify the copies against the originals if you wish.
In general it's useful and reliable; I've had no problems with it.
