I've had this with my 42" plasma, also a Panasonic (TH-42PF30). Big vertical strip, colored at the edges, digital noise in the middle. Occurred after hearing a loud 'TIC'-noise coming from the monitor.
I had it repaired, it turned out to be a defective plasma panel in the unit. Don't know what it cost though, because it happened within the warranty-period.

One of our offlien monitors - a Panny 17" LCD - just started showing a big ugly colored strips down the front - in all modes. Like a dishtowel.
Anyone seen this? repairable?
It's a monitor we use in the field a once in a while, but this showed up just suddenly in the middle of an edit session - not after droppage or anything like that.
