We have used Boris with more success. Principally because with Automatic
duck, if there is any error the the whole thing seems to fail with not much
info about why, with boris it makes clips to batch import and so if
something fails you can narrow it down to one clip rather than the whole
thing failing

I'll second Mark's definitive "yes and no". I've done. I've survived. But it
always requires a lot of noodling.
