Re: [Avid-L2] Loading 9.05 AJA driver on MacPro OS 10.6.8 Causes Death Screen?

John, we have 3 different Aja I/o installations of various configuration with no problems. Did you 'zap' the pram or VRAM or whatever it's called? Maybe the computers looking for something that isn't there.

Well they swapped computers for crash reasons and I moved the PCI card and startup drive to the new mac pro. One difference was that the aja ext PCI host adapter had to go in the top slot #4 instead of #3 where I had it in the other computer. I did this just because the fibre card was in slot 3 on the new macpro, and by new I mean swapped it's a similar vintage model mac pro. Both units gave me the lane app when I first booted with the aja io connected so whatever vintage that is. At any rate I got the death screen after booting to the drive that had worked on the previous computer. There was also another startup drive in the new computer with OS 10.6.8 and mc 5.5.3 I booted to that successfully and installed the proper fibre manager. Then when I installed the aja 9.05 driver I got the death

I'm thinking the slot location might be the issue although in my research slots 3 and 4 are both capable of 1 lane which is all the io express needs as far as I know. Do to session demands we just put back in the original mac pro and that is working. I'm curious what others experiences have been. I think in the working computer the fibre card was in slot 2 and the IO express HBA is in 3 with an additional video card in slot 4. The problematic mac pro had a fibre card in slot 3 so I put the aja HBA in slot 4. The death screen only happened once I installed the driver so I think that is part of the problem. When I get a chance to experiment I'll try disconnecting the IO Express and see what happens. Anybody else seen these kind of issues?
