I'm not exactly clear on what you are doing, but I think it might go like this. Comp video into the stationary iPad. Then when you try to animate the move the entire image moves. Video mixdown of that. Track a roto around the now moving iPad that isolates it from the rest of the moving background and that goes over a clean background.
