[Avid-L2] OT: Can't renew my perpetual license.

Hi,

My problem is that I cannot renew my perpetual license.
After I get to the renew page where I usually select BUY NOW, the only

If you can find an installer I'd like a like to it as well. I'm on Mac OS 10.15.4. with 2020.4 All ok so far, but only just starting with a project on a MBP 16.

Firstly, the thing you are talking about is not in the location you described.. I find it in System Preferences / Accessibility / Zoom / ADVANCED / CONTROLS. That's the only place that Temporary toggle is located. So I could not really have known what you were talking about until I found it myself, not where you described.

Secondly, it clearly tells you the keys to hold if you want this, and my suggestion to change the Toggle On/Off is the only type you can change. It does the exact same thing as the Temporary toggle, you just have to hit it twice. So if you program it somewhere you like, you can easily accomplish what you really want to do. Otherwise, you're stuck with the keys they give you for the momentary switch.

I am not looking for Toggle Zoom On/Off. I'm looking for temporally toggle zoom. If you were to actually go to SysPerf / Accessibility / Zoom you would see Toggle Zoom On/Off listed. Then if you were to continue to SysPerf / Accessibility / Zoom / Options you will then see the option I'm talking about - temporarily toggle zoom. Just like I mentioned in my OP.

Sorry for the noise. Maybe I didn't run MC 2020.4 after installing it (I had previously been using the Catalina beta). Turns out updating the Nablet XAVC XDCAM AMA plugin from 5.0.1 to 5.0.2 fixed the crashing issue.

[Avid-L2] Media Composer 2020.4 on Mac Catalina 10.15.4 suddenly started crashing on launch

I installed MC 2020.4 on Catalina a few days ago and it was working fine for a few days. This morning it crashes immediately on launch. Anybody else seeing something like this? As far as I know, the only thing I have installed between working Media Composer and crashing is an OpenVPN application. I have already tried uninstalling and reinstalling and it's still the same.

If I'm understanding you correctly, you should be able to right-click on the AMA/UME/Linked clip in the bin and choose "Relink to File(s)". It'll open the Source Browser and you can navigate to where the source file lives. That's pretty much the same as it's done if Premiere.

[Avid-L2] Find list of files to link to #workflow

How are folks conforming to non native media?

I have a short sequence & a massive drive of files (not Avid MediaFiles).

If I ‘set bin display’ to see the sources I can then search the massive drive for the files one by one & alt-drag them into a bin one by one then relink the short sequence. OK for very few sources.

Or I can link to the whole drive (slow) & relink.

Or (I think) I could export a list of those files & find/copy them to a new destination and then AMA & relink. Creates duplicate media I don’t really need).

Questions:

Can I relink (via AMA) before I have the source file in the project? Like I can in PP. I think not. Possible feature request ‘relink via source browser’

Is there a better way of doing this?

MC2020.4 on OS X or 2018.12 on win10

It's a nice little app, but the problem I had with it is that there are some things that we use from project to project that were originally imported under a different project. Especially sound effects and music stuff. But also there are times that there will be a few different things going on at one time. Like the main long term project. Then maybe a music video or prep for an upcoming project. And 'some' of the people I work with aren't always good about switching projects before importing stuff. So I prefer the AAF method.
