Possibly a more relevant question is: How many people WOULD have bought Baselight -- if Avid's architecture had allowed Baselight to operate with the same powerful features found in Symphony CC.
For many, it would have been a no-brainer: one application, streamlined workflow, no round-tripping headaches -- and revise until the last minute.
At this point, with Symphony CC being so far behind the curve (pun intended) and Universal Mastering largely irrelevant -- what exactly is the Symphony value proposition?
And, how does Avid differentiate Symphony in the future? A lot of Media Composer users will be very unhappy if they have to upgrade to Symphony just to achieve resolution independence.
