[Avid-L2] Re: ScriptSync and Phrase Find no longer available

Hey David,

Once again thanks for keeping us as involved as possible in the ongoing trials and tribulations of SS and PF. I personally use PF and have never touched SS. which I know is a great piece of software, but for me it's too much work without a gaggle of assistants to prep it.
While I understand about the 'Avid Everywhere' thing, it seems that more and more non network productions (wnd some network open s too) are working out of small shops (no unity, isis, or interplay) or out of homes, and small offices (like me most of the time). I do not have an isis nor do I need one. Putting all your eggs (well, mgmt eggs) in one basket is not necessarily a good thing, what happens when that basket shrinks ? I know you are along for the ride and are not in control of the negotiations, and I also realize Nexidia needs to keep their IP priced where it makes sense. Boris does'nt seem (yet) to have any issues, so maybe that's a good sign. Like I said. If they feel the need to increase the price, and sell less copies…more power to them.

As we have seen in the music world lowering the price causes less people to steal and want to own them selves (although everything is going to the cloud where catastrophes are just waiting to happen…(Adobe?)

Anyway just my 2 cents.

Keep fighting the fight we're alongside you…
Thanks…eli
