How about the good old Avid Media Processor - a Mac clone with a built-in
expansion chassis.

You must be mistaking me for a troll.
I have used expansion chassis before. I have used expansion chassis from
both SBS and Magma. The SBS expansion chassis was a nightmare. If I breathed
on the SBS the wrong way, the whole system went down. The Magma expansion
chassis was better than the SBS, though it too had issues.
