Around 10 years ago there was a business that came to our local mall. It was a virtual reality gaming system. You put on a helmet, stood in a small circular area surrounded by guard rails, and entered a shoot em' up world. I played for about 20 minutes and it was really cool. When you turned, the image turned with you. Total virtual reality.
Then I took the helmet off and sat on a couch trying not to ralph for the next two hours. I had major motion sickness. As did the others who played with me. So your wrap around idea sounds novel, but in practice I think the inner ear not matching the visual will catch up with people.
