Simple (this is my take, NOT official Avid!):
"Avid Technologies announced today that CEO Gary Greenfield has submitted his resignation effective immediately. In a prepared statement, Mr. Greenfield says that he wanted to spend more time with his family and focus on other interests but his decision to leave Avid was one of the hardest in his career. Taking over the CEO position is Mr. Louis Hernandez who thanked Gary for his time and efforts at the company. "Gary led Avid through tough economic times and changed the structure of Avid to be better positioned for future growth. All of us at Avid thank Gary for his efforts," said Hernandez. Mr. Greenfield is expected to keep a position on the Board of Directors.
