From an email I received from Black Magic:
"These new models feature a Thunderbolt port, as well as reference and deck control so you can use them in the same way as our UltraStudio series of capture and playback products. The 3D model will even capture and play back 2 video files for dual stream 3D! Both models even include UltraScope software so you can use the Thunderbolt port for integrated waveform monitoring and error logging. It's like three products in one!"
Does this mean the Thunderbolt port would be used to feed a computer monitor that would display the Ultrascope waveform? Or would I be able to feed the Ultrascope software using Thunderbolt as the input? I figure it's the former but if it's the latter that would be neat. No need for an I/O to get to SDI to feed the waveform. Of course I'd be leery of using a Thunderbolt input to represent what would eventually come out SDI but in an all file based workflow it might be fine. If anybody stops by BM please ask about this on the Teranex products. TIA
