And yes, the Rocket card is the only choice if you plan to go full debayer. Too bad Avid is not able to pass the RGB decoded info into their BOB. For the time being it will be transcode only.
By the way, the Readme file is wrong when it says you can put the RR card in slot 4 and move the storage controller in slot 3. This is in use by the FX4800 card.

There's always the red Rocket card....
<<Red Rocket Card Support
The Red Rocket card reference in the PDF documentation should have stated that this card
has been qualified for transcode only when used with a Media Composer software only
system with local storage. The minimum drivers currently supported are Red Rocket driver
v1.3.2.0 and Red Rocket firmware v1.1.8.6.
In the HPz800, the Red Rocket card can be installed in slot 4 and the local storage controller
(if required) can be installed in slot 3.
In the HPz400, the Red Rocket card can be installed in slot 4 and the local storage controller
(if required) can be installed in slot 5.
In the Mac Pro (Nehalem), the Red Rocket card can be installed in slot 2 and the local
storage controller (if required) can be installed in slot 3.
So it will debayer in realtime for Media Composer Software.
